Yemeni forces capture Red Sea coast city
Yemeni government forces and national resistance, have secured the Red Sea coast city of al-Mokha, , in a push that paves the way for an advance on the country's main port city of Hodeidah, located some 185 km (115 miles) to the north. Hodeidah is Yemen's main port for food imports for the country of 26 million people.
Supporters of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi have been fighting for weeks to capture the town, from the Iran-aligned Houthi -Saleh that has held it since early 2015.
A military source said,” government forces recaptured the whole city of Mokha, and The national army were able to capture 30 members of the militia rebels, killed dozens of them and the rest fled away”.
He added ,“The military operation is continuing to hunt down remnants of the militia insurgents, after the opening of safe corridors for residents to leave homes and neighbourhoods.”
Engineering teams continue their operations to disarm mines and explosive objects from all districts of Mokha city and its surroundings, which are planted by the militia insurgents, during the past weeks aims to impede the progress of the national army and the popular resistance.
The army has been able on Wednesday with the support of the Arab Air Alliance to liberate the city of Mokha, strategic port after fierce fighting lasted several days and resulted in the death and injury of hundreds of militia rebels.
قوات الجيش اليمني والمقاومة الشعبية تحرز انتصارت ميدانية على الشريط البحري وتحرر مدينة المخا تمكنت قوات الجيش الوطني والمقاومة الشعبية اليوم من تطهير معظم الاحياء السكنية بمدينة المخا من قناصة وخلايا مليشيا الحوثي وصالح الانقلابية التي تحاول الاحتماء بالمواطنين بعد الانتصارات الكبيرة التي تحققت شرق وغرب المخا وقال مصدر عسكري بقيادة محور تعز لوكالة الانباء اليمنية (سبأ) "أن قوات الجيش الوطني استكملت عملية تطهير أحياء كانت تختبي فيها ماتبقى من عناصر المليشيا وأن الاهالي خرجوا للترحيب بقوات الجيش والمقاومة في المناطق التي تم تحريرها اليوم وسط مدينة المخا ".وأضاف" أن العملية العسكرية مستمرة لمطاردة بقية فلول المليشيا بعد فتح ممرات آمنة للسكان لمغادرة المنازل والاحياء السكنية" وقال المصدر "ان الجيش الوطني تمكن من أسر 30 من عناصر المليشيا ومقتل العشرات منهم ولاذ البقية بالفراروتواصل الفرق الهندسية عملياتها بنزع الألغام والأجسام المتفجرة من كافة أحياء مدينة المخا ومحيطها، والتي زرعتها مليشيا الحوثي وصالح الانقلابية خلال الأسابيع الماضية بهدف إعاقة تقدم قوات الجيش الوطني والمقاومة الشعبية واوضح مصدر عسكري لوكالة الأنباء اليمنية (سبأ)بان قوات الجيش ألقت القبض على عشرين من المليشيا الانقلابية الخميس خلال عمليات تمشيط لعدد من الأحياء في مدينة المخا والذين كانوا يختبئون بعدد من المنازل.وكانت قوات الجيش قد تمكنت يوم أمس الأربعاء بمساندة طيران التحالف العربي من استكمال تحرير مدينة المخا ومينائها الاستراتيجي بعد معارك عنيفة استمرت عدة أيام وأسفرت عن مصرع وإصابة المئات من عناصر المليشيا الانقلابية
